Great night of celebration as old and new Spring Hill Basketball players gathered together to partake in the Alumni Game.  This served as the Panthers final scrimmage before their season tips off next Friday at home versus Pine Tree.  Game times have been set as follows: 5:00 PM - 9th; 6:15 PM - JV; 7:30 PM - Varsity.

Spring Hill Tri-Scrimmage with Longview and Marshall

The Panthers host their first Tri-Scrimmage between them, Longview, and Marshall in the HS Gym on Tuesday, Nov. 6th.  The first scrimmages will start at 4:15 PM between Spring Hill and Longview followed by Spring Hill versus Marshall at 5:15 PM, and Longview versus Marshall at 6:15 PM.  The Varsity teams will play on the main court, while the JV will play on the side court. This is the Panthers first scrimmage of the season.

Offseason Ends and the Season Begins

Tuesday, Oct. 23rd marked the final day for Fall Offseason Workouts.  The boys (9-12) along with a mix of offseason baseball and soccer athletes completed a 40-day workout that focused on strength and conditioning.  Wednesday, Oct. 24th is the first official day of practice for all HS boys basketball teams.  

Fall League comes to an End

Monday, Oct. 22nd marked the fourth and final Monday of Fall League competition for the Panthers.  The boys played a double-header evening schedule the last four Mondays at different LISD facilities competing against area teams such as Longview, Tatum, Hallsville, Gladewater, and Henderson.  Official team practice starts Wednesday, Oct. 24th for all HS teams.

Five Spring Hill Players were asked to demonstrate for Sunday, Oct. 21st's East Texas Coaching Clinic held at Lobo Coliseum.  The event featured instruction from coaches at the following colleges: Kilgore College, Paris Junior College, Tyler Junior College, Centenary College, and Letourneau University.

SH Players Attend Henderson's Hoop School

On Saturday, September 1st several Spring Hill basketball players attended Danny Henderson's Hoop School which was held at Spring Hill's Junior High Gym.  The camp focused on individual offensive skill development.  Henderson, who is the 2011-12 Max Preps National Coach of the Year, is the current head basketball coach at Duncanville High School.

New Addition to the #FAMILY

On May 14, 2012, the Spring Hill Basketball #FAMILY added a new member as John and Elise Mason welcomed their new son into the world.  Luke Daniel Mason is the couple's first born, and he is sure loved by our staff and team.  Congratulations!!!!

Summer Recap - League Play, Tournaments, Team Camp

Louisiana Tech Team Camp 2012

The High School squad was busy and ambitious with this summer's schedule.  The Panthers co-hosted a summer league in the month of June and competed against White Oak, Gladewater, and Kilgore.  They also participated in tournaments at Tatum and White Oak.  For a summer finale, the young men went to Ruston, Lousiana and competed in La Tech's Team Camp where they were able to go against some of the best teams in the state of Louisiana.  Coaching the Varsity and JV summer league teams were Stephan Tarpley (class of 2008) and Matt Ballard (class of 2012).  The guys then went back to a normal routine of attending open gyms for the remainder of the summer, and are anxious to get back to work in preparation for another promising season.

In mid-June Spring Hill Basketball hosted its annual summer camp for 5th-9th graders.  The boys were instructed, inspired, and entertained by SH's exceptional summer staff of coaches and former players/managers.  The leadership team consisted of Head Basketball Coach Hunter Taylor, Assistant Basketball Coach John Mason, and Coach Bruce "Alpha" Taylor.

The demonstrators who served at summer camp were Landon White (class of 2012), Brandon Robbins (class of 2012), Caleb Jones (class of 2012), Ryan Sarran (class of 2012), Carl Robertson (class of 2012), and Ryan Bogle (class of 2012).

At the conclusion of camp, the entire staff was in agreement....the future is looking bright!!!!
